Exam Information
Midterms/Final Exams
Midterm/final exam schedules along with modified bell schedules are published prior to the end of the second and fourth nine weeks of each school year. Midterm/final exam bell schedules will also be posted in each teacher's classroom and students may obtain paper copies in the main office. Students should also note:
- All exam periods are approximately 80 minutes in length
- All non-exam periods are approximately 30 minutes in length
- There are 4 minutes between lunches and all classes

Keystone Exams
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires school districts in Pennsylvania to administer the Keystone Exams to all students in Grades 9-11. Additionally, to meet state and federal graduation requirements, the Mars Area School District adopted graduation requirements for the Class of 2020 and beyond. All Keystone Exam test scores will be included on all students’ educational transcripts. Parents are asked to encourage students to take the exams seriously.
The results of all Keystone Exams will be reported to parents/guardians. In addition to individual student results, the District will receive subject area results that show how well our students are performing on these exams. School personnel will use the information to analyze our educational programs.
Students who fail to achieve a score of "Advanced" or "Proficient" will need to retake the corresponding Keystone Exam. For more information, click on the following:

AP Exams/Information
Mars Area High School offers students an opportunity to take various AP Exams during each school year. Cost is $92 per exam as set by College Board. Checks may be made payable to "Mars Area High School." For more information concerning AP Exam procedures, contact the Principal's Office.
