Mars Area High School will hold its inaugural Spanish National Honor Society (Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica) Chapter Induction Ceremony at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 22.

Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school sophomores and above enrolled in Spanish. To be eligible for participation, students must have an “A” grade in each level of Spanish; a minimum average GPA of 3.6; and must commit to complete all four years of the language.

The goal of the honor society, which is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP), is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.
