Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team will take on the Strath Haven Black Panthers in the semifinals of the 2018 PIAA Class 2A Boys Lacrosse Championships at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, at Cumberland Valley High School (Mechanicsburg, Pa.).

The Fightin’ Planets crushed the Palmyra Area Cougars 13-6 in the PIAA quarterfinals on June 2; routed the Cathedral Prep Ramblers 20-8 in the first round of PIAA play on May 29. The team tamed the Hampton Talbots 17-4 in the final game of the 2018 WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship on May 25, earning the team’s third consecutive WPIAL title and a state playoff bout.

The team conquered the Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic Trojans 20-5 in the WPIAL semifinals on May 23; and swatted the Freeport Yellowjackets 18-5 in the WPIAL quarterfinals on May 17. The Planets ended the 2018 regular season with an overall record of 14-1and 4-0 in section play, earning the 2018 Section 1-2A title.
