Mars Area High School will remember the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks as part of an annual “9/11: Never Forget Project” flag memorial.

This year, members of the Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC, along with other District staff members and students, will plant 2,977 American flags, one for each person who died in the Sept. 11 attacks, along Route 228 in front of the high school. The flags will remain on display through Wednesday, Sept. 11.
