Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team will take on the Allentown Central Catholic Vikings in the final game of the 2021 PIAA Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championships at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, at West Chester East High School (West Chester, Pa.).

The Fightin’ Planets grounded the Bishop Shanahan Eagles in the PIAA semifinals on June 8, becoming the first team from Western Pennsylvania to advance to the PIAA Championship Final. The team topped the Trinity Hillers 14-9 in the PIAA quarterfinals on June 5; and, tackled the Hershey Trojans 12-0 in the first round of the PIAA playoffs on June 1.

The Planets defeated the Chartiers Valley Colts 18-4 in the final game of the 2021 WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Lacrosse Championship on May 27, earning the team’s fifth consecutive WPIAL title and a spot in the state playoffs.

The team routed the South Fayette Lions 20-6 in the WPIAL semifinals on May 24; and, tamed the Franklin Regional Panthers 29-3 in the WPIAL quarterfinals on May 19. The Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 16-0 and 8-0 in section play, earning the 2021 Section 2-2A title.
