Mars Area High School Varsity Hockey Team will take on the Avonworth Antelopes in the final game of the 2025 PIHL (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League) Class A Penguins Cup Playoffs at 8:45 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

The Fightin’ Planets broke the Chartiers Valley Colts 3-2 in the Penguins Cup semifinals on March 12; toppled the Shaler Area Titans 5-4 in the Penguins Cup Quarterfinals on March 3; and, beat the Meadville Bulldogs 9-0 in the Play-In Round on Feb. 24. The team ended the 2024-2025 regular season with an overall record of 17-3.
