Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Volleyball Team will take on the South Fayette Lions in the Third Place Consolation Game of the 2025 WPIAL Class 2A Boys Varsity Volleyball Championship at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 23, at Gateway High School (Monroeville).

The Fightin’ Planets advanced to the WPIAL Semifinals on May 20, but were defeated 3-2 by the Ambridge Bridgers. The team repelled the Seton LaSalle Rebels 3-2 in the WPIAL Quarterfinals on May 15; and, grounded the South Park Eagles 3-0 in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs on May 13. The Planets ended the regular season with an overall record of 8-10 and 4-4 in Section 2-2A.
