Mars Area High School Marching Band will compete in the 2026 PIMBA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association) Championships, to be held from 3 to 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Gateway High School (Monroeville, Pa.)

The marching band will perform its halftime show, inspired by the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and featuring the songs “Who Let the Dogs Out” by Baha Men, “Go the Distance” from the Hercules soundtrack, and “Dog Days are Over” by Florence + The Machine.

The Fightin’ Planets will compete against Class A bands from McKeesport, Springdale and South Side Area high schools. The band is scheduled to perform at 4 p.m.
