Students Receive Awards at County Art Show

Several works by Mars Area High School students received awards in the 2019 Associated Artists of Butler County (AABC) High School Art Exhibit.                

In the Sculpture category, senior Elyse Spaun took first place, for her piece, “This Car is Toast;” junior Delaney Maitland earned second place for “Disembodied;” and senior Haylea Rieger received an honorable mention for “Look What We Did.”

In the Photography category, junior Alexis Barger earned second place for her photo, “Moon;” and senior Madison Ceasar received an honorable mention for “Snow Angel.” In the Mixed Media category, senior Haylea Rieger received an honorable mention for her piece, “Down to Earth.”

In the Painting category, senior Teressa Wesley took first place for her work, “The Fallen, The Falling;” and senior Emma Voelker received an honorable mention for “Dreams.” In the Drawing category, freshman Audrey Gehm received an honorable mention for her piece, “The Wall And Her Art.”

The 2019 AABC High School Art Exhibit remains on display through Saturday, March 16, at the Butler Art Center (Butler, Pa.). For more information, visit http://butlerartcenter.org.
