WINTERGUARD, INDOOR PERCUSSION NEWS (updated 04.03.19)

The Mars Area High School Winterguard Team took first place in the Scholastic Novice division at the 2019 TRWEA Championship.Mars Area High School’s Winterguard and Indoor Percussion teams competed in the 2019 TRWEA (Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association) Championships, held March 30 at Norwin High School (North Huntingdon, Pa.).

Mars Area Winterguard took first place with a combined score of 92.71 in the Scholastic Novice division, earning top marks for design analysis and general effect. Mars Area Indoor Percussion obtained second place overall with 89.00 points in the Percussion Scholastic A division, taking the top scores for visual effect and music

WGI Mid East Power Regional

The Mars Area High School Indoor Percussion Team competed in the WGI (Winter Guard International) Mid East Power Regional, held March 24 at Northern Kentucky University’s BB&T Arena (Highland Heights, Ky.).

The team took fourth place overall with a combined score of 84.825 in the Percussion Scholastic A division; tied for third place in the visual effect category; and received fourth place in the music effect category.

2019 Top Hats TRWEA Contest

Mars Area High School’s Winterguard and Indoor Percussion teams competed in the 2019 Top Hats TRWEA (Three Rivers Winter Ensemble Association) Contest, held March 2 at Hempfield Area High School (Greensburg, Pa.)

Mars Area Winterguard earned first place with combined score of 77.36 in the Scholastic Novice division and earned top scores for design analysis and general effect. Mars Area Indoor Percussion took second place (72.25) in the Percussion Scholastic A division.
