Several members of Mars Area High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter competed at the 2018-2019 FBLA State Leadership Conference, held April 8-10 in Hershey, Pa.
Seniors Alexis Bonifate and Isabella Veneris earned first and third place, respectively, in the Journalism event. Senior Anastasia Bonifate took third place and senior Alexis Bonifate received ninth place in the Current Events competition.
Senior Anastasia Bonifate earned second place in Job Readiness; sixth place in Retail Management; and 10th place in Word Processing. Senior Stephanie Streb took ninth place in the Economics event.
Other FBLA members who competed at the state conference included seniors Dustin Bauer, Matthew Olsen and Andrew Seles; juniors Blake Edwards, Rachel Goetz, Karlie Hollern and Connor McChesney; and sophomore Andrew Riska.
FBLA is a non-profit educational association of students preparing for careers in business or simply interested in learning more about the American Business Enterprise. The organization aids students in enhancing leadership abilities as well as in preparing for entry into and advancement within a business or business-related occupation.
