Incoming Mars Area senior Madison Myers was named 2019 Big Butler Fair Queen.

Myers will serve as a community ambassador for the Big Butler Fair, which will be held June 28-July 6. The annual contest, open to female Butler County residents ages 16-20, requires all applicants to complete a written essay, an interview, and to give a persuasive speech on how the Big Butler Fair impacts the community.

She was awarded the crown, along with a $500 scholarship, at the annual Butler Fair Queen Pageant, held June 11. Her first official appearance in her new role was at the Mars Area Public Library Summer Reading Kickoff in her hometown on June 17.
