Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Golf Team competed in the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Golf Team Championship, held Oct. 7 at Pleasant Valley Golf Club (Connellsville, Pa.).

The Lady Planets received ninth place with a combined score of 433. Individually, senior Abbie Gannon earned a score of 107, senior Rachel Goetz (117), senior Lexie Knox (136), junior Victoria Witouski (93), and freshman Sophie Maestra (116).

WPIAL Class 3A Varsity Golf Championships

Two members of Mars Area High School Boys and Girls Varsity Golf Teams competed in the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Boys and Girls Varsity Golf Individual Championships, respectively.

Senior Cody Killian took 27th place with a score of 82 in the WPIAL Boys Championship, held Oct. 1 at Fox Chapel Country Club. Junior Victoria Witouski received 23rd place (92) in the WPIAL Girls Championship, held Oct. 2 at Diamond Run Golf Club.

2019 Section 1-3A Girls Varsity Golf Individual Qualifier

Mars Area junior Victoria Witouski competed in the 2019 Section 1-3A Girls Varsity Golf Individual Qualifier, held Sept. 17 at Fox Run Golf Course.

Witouski, a member of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Golf Team, took third place with a score of 82. She will advance to the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Golf Individual Championship, to be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Diamond Run Golf Club.

2019 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Semifinals

Two members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team competed in the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Semifinals, held Sept. 23 at Willowbrook Country Club (Apollo, Pa.).

Senior Cody Killian took 11th place with a score of 79 and freshman Blake Bertolo received 30th place (86). Killian will advance to the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Championships, to be held Tuesday, Oct. 1, at Fox Chapel Country Club.

2019 Section 8-3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Qualifier

Two members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Golf Team placed in the 2019 Section 8-3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Qualifier, held Sept. 16 at Suncrest Golf Course.

Senior Cody Killian and freshman Blake Bartolo took sixth and seventh place, respectively, both with a score of 79. Both will advance to the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Golf Individual Semifinals, to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, at Willowbrook Golf Club.
