Mars Area High School seniors Dalton Becker and Kamryn Kolson were selected to receive a 2019 Scholastic Sports Marketing Student-Athlete Award.

The award recognizes those student-athletes who embody true dedication and leadership values. On behalf of the 2019 Scholastic Sports Marketing Friday Night Lights Tour, U.S. Army Sgt. Brandon Carregal, presented the awards during the coin toss that began the Fightin’ Planets Varsity Football Team’s home game against the Shaler Area Titans on Sept. 27.

Carregal, on behalf of Scholastic Sports Marketing, also offered each team with a coin to commemorate the game and presented Scott Heinauer, Mars Area School District Athletics/Activities Director and head football coach, with a commemorative game ball.
