Several members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Teams are listed among the best players in the region.

Junior Elizabeth Long was named to the All-WPIAL Girls Volleyball Second Team. Senior Emily Hayward and junior Elizabeth Long were selected for the 2019 All-Section (4-3A) First Team; junior Sydney Bucknum and sophomores Ava Black and Victoria Felton to the Second Team; and junior Kathryn Schlegel to the Third Team.

This season, the Lady Planets advanced to the first round of the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Volleyball Championship. The team ended the regular season with an overall record of 11-5 and 11-3 in Section 4-3A play.

2019 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Volleyball Championships

Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team advanced to the first round of the 2019 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Volleyball Championship on Oct. 23, but was defeated 3-1 by the Elizabeth Forward Warriors.

The Lady Planets ended the 2019 regular season with an overall record of 11-5 and 11-3 in Section 4-3A play.

Players on this year’s team included senior Emily Hayward; juniors Sydney Bucknum, Elizabeth Long, Emily Mayer and Kathryn Schlegel; sophomores Ava Black, Victoria Felton, and Yumeno Ikeda; and freshmen Lauren Atwell, Ava Donnelly, Anna Pietrusinski and Megan Yanief.
