Several members of Mars Area High School Band were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District 5 Honors Band Festival, to be held Dec. 12-14 at Westminster College (New Wilmington, Pa.).

Students are juniors Elizabeth Caldwell (flute), Carly King (oboe), and Alex Smith (trumpet); and freshman Ethan Musler (tuba) and Andrew Nelson (bassoon). Dr. Elizabeth Peterson, University of Illinois associate director of bands, will serve as guest conductor.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Westminster College’s Orr Auditorium. Tickets are $5 may be purchased at the door.
