Several members of Mars Area High School Orchestra were selected by solo audition to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District Orchestra Festival, to be held Jan. 29-31 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Indiana, Pa.).

Students are senior Zachary Ottenweller (bass); juniors Elizabeth Caldwell (flute), Carly King (oboe) and Hannah Miller (French horn); and, sophomores Edward Page (violin), Madalyn Reddinger (violin) and Evan Rojas (bass). Dr. Alexandra Dee, Indiana University of Pennsylvania Director of Orchestral Studies, will serve as guest conductor.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Fisher Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
