Vo-Tech Students Place in SkillsUSA Competition

Two Mars Area High School students who attend Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School placed in the 2020 SkillsUSA “Champions at Work” District 10 Competition, held Jan. 17 at New Castle School of Trades.

Senior Roshan Nunna, a Computer Networking & Security student, earned a Gold Medal in the Information Technology Services contest and will advance to the 2020 SkillsUSA Pennsylvania State Conference, to be held April 15-17 in Hershey, Pa. Senior Anastasia Starr, a Graphic Design student, earned a Bronze Medal in the Job Skill Demonstration Open.

The students competed against high school students from other District 10 career and technical education centers. The SkillsUSA competition reinforces the field-related skills that students are learning in the classroom as well as their leadership prowess.
