Four members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team placed in the 2019-2020 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships, held Feb. 28-29 at Canon-McMillan High School (Canonsburg, Pa.).

Sophomore Christian Scheller (138-pound) and freshmen Brandon Krul (120) both advanced to the quarterfinal round of the consolation bracket in their respective weight classes. Senior Sean McElhinny (160) advanced to the first round consolation match; and freshmen Rocco Darocy (113) competed in the preliminary round in his weight

Four members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team placed in the 2019-2020 WPIAL Section 3-3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Tournament, held Feb. 22 at Fox Chapel Area High School.

Senior Sean McElhinny (160-pound); sophomore Christian Scheller (138); and freshmen Rocco Darocy (113) and Brandon Krul (120) each earned fourth place in their respective weight classes. All four wrestlers will advance to the 2019-2020 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Wresting Individual Championships, to be held Feb. 28-29 at Canon-McMillan High School (Canonsburg, Pa.)

Other wrestlers who competed at the section tournament were senior Charlie Luedtke (182); juniors Davis Luedtke (145) and Anthony Maiure (126); sophomore Eli Wright (132);
