Two teams of Mars Area High School students competed in the 2020 Western Pennsylvania High School Science Bowl, held Feb. 22 at Community College of Allegheny County — South Campus (West Mifflin, Pa.)

Mars Team #1, made up of seniors Dylan Becker (captain), Zach Leachman, Griffin Miller and Adrian Zugehar; and freshman Zach Long, was a top scorer in its division, winning five matches in the preliminary round, winning five matches. Mars Team #2 included senior Matthew Gourash (captain); and sophomores Timothy Jayamohan, Raghav Kalbhor, Anuj Kaul and Audrey Milk.

The students, who competed against 40 teams from local high schools, were asked questions related to biology, chemistry, earth & space, energy, mathematics and physics.
