Three Mars Area High School seniors are nominated for the 2019-2020 +Positive Athlete Western Pennsylvania Award.

Nominees are Connor Bird, a member of Mars Area High School’s Varsity Cross Country and Track & Field teams; Kiara Khemani, a member of the Girls Varsity Soccer Team; and Julia McCarty, a member of the Girls Varsity Tennis Team. The student-athletes are listed among nominees from 150 Pennsylvania schools as those who embody an optimistic attitude.

The annual honor is presented to those student-athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances; have given back to their schools and communities; and who serve as a positive role model for their teammates and their school.
