Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team advanced to the first round of the 2020 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Team Tennis Championships on Oct. 13, but was defeated 3-2 by the Fox Chapel Foxes.
The Lady Planets ended the 2020 regular season with an overall record of 9-3 and 6-2 in Section 2-3A. This season, seniors Isabella Gaydosh and Emily Ivory each advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Girls Varsity Tennis Section 2-3A Singles Tournament.
The doubles team of seniors Isabella Gaydosh and Emily Ivory advanced to the first round of the 2020 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Championship, after placing third in the 2020 Section 2-3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Tournament. The doubles team of junior Lauren Miko and freshman Cecelia Crowley competed to the quarterfinal round of the section tournament.
Other players on this year’s team included seniors Chloe Ceasar, Riya Cherlakola, Peyton Felicetti, Sara Hart, Janie Hodder and Alexandra Knotts; sophomores Carla Genevro, Blythe McClure, Grace Roda and Sydney Terzich; and, freshmen Anna Bowser, Reese Hannah, Claire Magness, Madison Mroz, Izabella Pettigrew and Nora Solich.

Two members of Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Tennis Team competed in the 2020 WPIAL Class 3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Championship, held Oct. 7-8 at North Allegheny Senior High School.
The doubles team of seniors Isabella Gaydosh and Emily Ivory competed in the first round of the event. The duo advanced to the WPIAL Championships after placing third in the 2020 Section 2-3A Girls Varsity Tennis Doubles Tournament.
