2020 Homecoming Information — Football Game Spectators, Seating

Ticket sales for Mars Area High School’s 2020 Homecoming Football Game (Friday, Sept. 25) will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Sept. 24, and Friday, Sept. 25, at the Main Ticket Booth at the Mars Athletic Complex. 

All spectators must purchase tickets ($6) in advance. No tickets will be sold at the gate. No one will be permitted entrance to the campus or the parking areas without a valid ticket. Game attendees will be required to present their tickets to the parking attendant upon entering the stadium parking lots. Parking will only be available at Mars Area Middle School or in the grass lot along Davison Road.

Please note that families with students participating in the game and homecoming activities will be permitted to purchase a specific number of tickets based on current social distancing guidelines, as established by the Pennsylvania Office of the Governor and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The following lists the total number of tickets that will be made available to each student group:  

Ticket Distribution — Homecoming (Friday, Sept. 25) 

    • Football Players — 57 players-  3 tickets available for purchase per player on roster
    • Cheerleaders — 18 members- 3 tickets available for purchase per cheerleader on roster
    • Band Members — 67 members- 3 tickets available for purchase per member on roster 
    • Away Team —120 tickets total (tickets sales will be handled by the visiting team)
    • Homecoming Court — 16 members- 2 tickets available for purchase per court member  

Note: No additional spectators will be permitted at this time. 

As of 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, Mars Area High School will have a limited number of tickets for the 2020 Mars Area High School Homecoming Football Game available for purchase by seniors (Class of 2021) ONLY.

Student tickets ($3) will be available for purchase, beginning at 6 p.m. tonight (Friday, Sept. 25) at the Main Ticket Booth at the Mars Athletic Complex. Seniors must present a valid photo ID at the time of ticket purchase. Upon entering the Middle School parking lot, seniors must notify the parking attendant that they are "Mars Area High School seniors" and "will be purchasing tickets at the gate."

In order to adhere to current social distancing guidelines, as established by the Pennsylvania Office of the Governor and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, there will be NO Student Section. All seniors must sit in the seating area(s) for "Home Football Parents," which are marked with yellow labels. 

All seniors must sit in the designated seating area(s) and are required to maintain social distancing at all times, where feasible. In addition, seniors should be reminded that face coverings (masks or shields) are required at all times within Mars Athletic Complex. Violations of the above may result in removal from the stadium.    

SEATING — Specific areas have been established in both the Home and Away Bleachers for the Homecoming Football Game. (For a stadium map listing each designated seating area, see below.) Signage, clearly marking each area, has been posted in the bleachers and each row of seating is also marked to maintain social distancing to the maximum extent possible. 

All spectators are asked to adhere to the established seating areas and to maintain social distancing, where feasible. In addition, all spectators are reminded that face coverings (masks or shields) are required at all times within Mars Athletic Complex. Violations of the above may result in removal from the stadium. 

Note: Seating locations and ticket distribution numbers will be different for the Senior Night celebrations at Mars Athletic Complex on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020. Information specific to Senior Night will be shared prior to the event.

The 2020 Homecoming Football Game, pitting the Fightin’ Planets against the Plum Mustangs, will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.

For those unable to attend the Homecoming Football Game in person, please note that the game will be live streamed on the “Mars Athletics” YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/channel/UChhmuaA3UMKtahpqNpeWaMw as well as on the TribLIVE HSSN (High School Sports Network) at https://tribhssn.triblive.com/broadcast/71841/wpial-football-plum-at-mars-september-25-2020-video/.

Immediately following the band’s performance, Mars Area High School will crown its 2020 Homecoming King. Candidates are Lance Bartley, Colin Boyle, Christian Kay, Teddy Ruffner, Anthony Vargo, Shaun Wasylson, Luke Whittaker and Jake Wooldridge.

At halftime, Mars Area High School Marching Band will perform its halftime show (facing the Away Bleachers, where their guests will be seated) and the 2020 Homecoming Queen will be crowned. Candidates are Macy Barshick, Ellie Coffield, Lauren Jablunovsky, Megan Mann, Emily Mayer, Megan Smith, Genevieve Thomas and Caroline Wroblewski.

Also on Friday, Sept. 25, the high school will also be following an AM Activity Bell Schedule to allow for a Virtual Pep Rally (below) , introducing the 2020 Homecoming Court, and voting for the Homecoming 2020 King and Queen.
