Mars Area High School Student Council will hold a “Drive-Thru” Trick-or-Treat Night from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26.
This year’s event will be expanded to four of Mars Area School District’s schools — Mars Area High School, Mars Area Middle School, Mars Area Elementary School and Mars Area Primary Center. Members of the high school’s clubs, sports teams and other organizations, all wearing face coverings and gloves, will be posted near the main entrance of each building to hand out candy as parents, students and community members.
All event-goers will be asked to remain in their vehicles and to travel along the established route (see below). After receiving candy at one building, participants may proceed to the next school.
In year’s past, the annual Trick-or-Treat Night was held in the hallways and classrooms at Mars Area High School. This year, Student Council decided to change to a “drive-thru” event to alleviate crowds, promote social distancing, and to better ensure the safety of all those involved.
FOOD DRIVE — In conjunction with Trick-or-Treat Night, Student Council will hold its annual Food Drive to benefit St. Kilian’s Food Pantry (Mars). Donations of non-perishable items (canned goods, cereal, paper products, etc.) and/or monetary donations may be dropped off at the main entrance to Mars Area High School during the event.
