An entry, submitted by Mars Area High School journalism students in Gabrielle Hock’s class, was selected as the winner of the West Virginia University Reed College of Media TikTok Challenge.
The contest asked students to create a TikTok video on “Fact-Checking (when writing/creating or sharing news and articles)” and/or the “First Amendment.” All entries were judged on shot variety, topic explanation, and overall creativity.
The students’ winning video entry focused on freedoms guaranteed under the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. Participating students included seniors Macy Barshick, Davis Luedtke, Danielle Ridgeway and Kylie Worthy; juniors Danielle Bednar and Casey Neff; sophomore Gracyn Thatcher; and freshman Gianna Depretis, Vivian Frank, Olivia Gamber and Reva Kalbhor.
