Senior Courtney Lisman, starting goalkeeper for the Mars Area High School Girls Varsity Soccer Team, was named a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Player of the Week (Nov. 16-20).
The team, which is ranked first in the nation according to a recent United Soccer Coaches poll, ended the 2020 regular season undefeated with an overall record of 12-0 and went 12-0 in section play, earning the Section 4-3A title.
With Lisman in the goal during post-season play, the Lady Planets did not allow a single goal on their way to earning their second consecutive WPIAL Title. Heading into the final game of the 2020 PIAA Class 3A Girls Varsity Soccer Championships (Friday, Nov. 20), the team has yet to be scored upon in the state playoffs, defeating the Mechanicsburg Area Wildcats (2-0) and Warren Area Dragons (8-0) in the semifinal and quarterfinal rounds, respectively.
