In the spirit of the holiday season, Mars Area High School freshman Reva Kalbhor created more than 75 cards to be distributed to residents of St. John Community (Mars).
“I want to be able to lift the spirits of the many citizens in the nursing home, so they also can have a fun and safe holiday season,” says Kalbhor. “My own grandparents live 7,000 miles away and I only see them once in two years, so making these cards lets me feel closer to them.”
For Thanksgiving, Kalbhor, along with her fellow students in Jen DiSanti’s English class, made cards and wrote letters for St. John Community residents. While DiSanti’s students are working on a similar project for the holidays, Kalbhor wanted to do more.
“(Kalbhor) has truly gone above and beyond with her efforts,” says DiSanti. “It is so heartwarming to see our students find a way to spread kindness and cheer!”
