Mars Area High School’s Class of 2020 has donated $3,269.84 to benefit MHY Family Services. 

As the 2020 Senior Prom was cancelled, those students who represented last school year’s senior class on Class Council were surveyed to determine how to spend the monies that would have otherwise been used for the event. The students agreed that the funds should be donated top MHY Family Services.

MHY Family Services plans to use the funds to offset the costs of renovating its gymnasium, which is used for physical education classes and various recreational activities.

“Improving this space on our campus will have an enormous impact on each and every child at MHY,” says Lisa M. Schiller, executive director. “With (the Class of 2020’s) support, MHY’s aging gymnasium will once again become a bright and energetic hub of activity on our campus.”
