Swimmers Compete in YMCA West District Event

Several Mars Area students represented Rose E. Schneider Family YMCA (Cranberry Township) in the 2021 YMCA Pennsylvania Western District Swimming Championship.

In the Girls 15-18 Competition, girls relay team members, including seniors Ainsley Bissett and Megan Smith, earned first place (8:00.71) in the 800-Yard Free Relay Time Trial.

In the 15&Over Competition, senior Ainsley Bissett earned fourth place (5:25.02) and sophomore McKenzie Vaniddekinge received seventh place (5:37.97) in the 500-Yard Free. Senior Ainsley Bissett took sixth place (2:03.51) in the 200-Yard Free.

Sophomore Natalie Stasiowski received ninth place (57.40) and senior Ainsley Bissett took 10th place (57.55) in the 100-Yard Free. Senior Megan Smith took second place (4:32.82) and sophomore Riley Connelly earned third place in the 400-Yard IM.

Senior Megan Smith earned first place (1:05.84), senior Abigail Scott took fourth place 1:12.39), and junior Sarah Hooper received 13th place (1:17.53) in the 100-Yard Breast. Senior Megan Smith took first place (2:06.07) and sophomore Riley Connelly earned third place (2:11.32) in the 200-Yard Back.

Relay team members, including senior Megan Smith and sophomore Riley Connelly, earned first place (1:49.32) in the 200-Yard Medley Relay. The relay team, including senior Megan Smith, took first place (3:41.66) in the 400-Yard Free Relay.

Senior Abigail Scott received 18th place (27.12) and junior Sarah Hooper took 20th place (27.47) in the 50-Yard Free. Senior Abigail Scott eared third place (2:37.14) in the 200-Yard Breast.

Sophomore Riley Connelly earned third place (1:00.10) and junior Isabella Pellegrino received ninth place (1:06.64) in the 100-Yard Back. Sophomore Natalie Stasiowski took ninth place (1:06.07) and junior Isabella Pellegrino received 13th place (1:10.90) in the 100-Yard Fly.

Sophomore Natalie Stasiowski took eighth place (26.04) and sophomore McKenzie Vaniddekinge received 16th place (27.07) in the 50-Yard Free. Sophomore Riley Connelly took first place (3:41.66) in the 400-Yard Free and sophomore McKenzie Vaniddekinge earned fifth place (2:27.25) in the 200-Yard IM 

Boys relay team members, including junior Nathan Silsby and sophomore Matthew Littleton earned fourth place (1:45.21) in the 200-Yard Medley Relay and third place (3:27.78) in the 400-Yard Free Relay. Sophomore Matthew Littleton took ninth place (23.17) and junior Nathan Silsby received 11th place (23.91) in the 50-Yard Free.

Sophomore Matthew Littleton took second place (2:01.27) in the 200-Yard Fly and fourth place (53.62) in the 100-Yard Fly. Junior Nathan Silsby received 12th place (52.26) in the 100-Yard Free 

In 13-14 Competition, girls relay team members, including freshmen Nora Solich and Bryn Wilson and eighth-grader Reagan Connelly earned second place (1:46.69) in the 200-Yard Free Relay. Eighth-grader Reagan Connelly earned fourth place (2:04.26) and freshman Bryn Wilson took ninth place (2:09.49) in the 200-Yard Free.

Eighth-grader Reagan Connelly took third place (1:03.32) in the 100-Yard Back and third place (2:16.33) in the 200-Yard Back. Eighth-grader Victoria Symchak took 12th place (1:19.99) in the 100-Yard Breast.

Freshman Bryn Wilson received fourth place (1:04.76) in the 100-Yard Fly and fifth place (2:29.95) in the 200-Yard Fly. Freshman Nora Solich took seventh place (27.57) in the 50-Yard Free

Boys relay team members, including freshman Ethan Vitale and eighth-grader Sean Muchnok earned third place (1:46.28) in the 200-Yard Free Relay and third place (1:57.44) in the 200-Yard Medley Relay.

Eighth-grader Sean Muchnok took fifth place (2:39.95) in the 200-Yard Breast, sixth place (1:11.76) in the 100-Yard Breast, and 16th place (26.93) in the 50-Yard Free. Freshman Ethan Vitale took fifth place (56.59) in the 100-Yard Free, seventh place (2:05.86) in the 200-Yard Free, and seventh place (1:03.25) in the 100-Yard Fly.

In 11-12 Competition, boys relay team members, including sixth-grader Gavin Best, took fourth place (2:18.5) in the 200-Yard Medley Relay. Sixth-grader Gavin Best earned second place (2:02.41) in the 200-Yard Free Relay, seventh place (35.15) in the 50-Yard Fly, and 11th place (30.16) in the 50-Yard Free,
