Mars Area High School’s Mars Indoor Percussion Team was selected to advance to the finals of the virtual 2021 WGI (Winterguard International) competition.

Mars Indoor Percussion was named as one of 15 finalists in the competition. The team’s performance of its show, “Turn on the Light,” was selected from more than 35 entries submitted by high school ensembles from across the country.

In an effort to limit any potential risk of COVID exposure, this school year, teams were asked to record and submit their performances, which were reviewed and evaluated by a national panel of judges.

“This is an amazing accomplishment for any ensemble!” says Dave Soose, Mars Indoor Percussion director. “We are so incredibly proud of our students and all that they accomplished.”
