Three members of Mars Area High School’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Chapter placed at the 2020-2021 FBLA State Leadership Conference, held April 12-14.
The team of junior Lauren Miko and sophomore Sophia Maestra earned fourth place in the Business Ethics event and qualified for the National FBLA Leadership Conference, scheduled for June 29-July 2. Sophomore Hayley Nicklas took sixth and eighth place in the Human Resource Management and Retail Management events, respectively.
Other participants included sophomores Ava Donnelly and Olivia Donnelly in the Sports & Entertainment Management event; and sophomores Ainsley McGee, Jessica McNulty and Alexis Whitworth in the Marketing competition.
In an effort to limit any potential risk of COVID exposure, this school year, students were asked to complete testing at their home schools and/or to submit video presentations online, depending upon the event. In a typical school year, FBLA students would have been invited to compete against their peers from other high schools in person at region and state events.
