Mars Area High School’s French classes have announced the winners of the school’s “Manie Musicale de Mars” music bracket competition, held in March.
Senior Carly King was the overall winner with 31 points. Freshman Abigail Lape was named the French 1 winner (28 points); sophomore Emma Hannan, French 2 (19 points); junior Luke Luedy, French 3 (28 points); and senior Lauren Jablunovsky, Advanced French 4 (24 points).
The competition, a play on “March Madness,” encouraged students to listen to contemporary French music; participate in supplemental activities; and connect with the larger French-speaking community. Students participated in the national activity by submitting brackets and voting for their favorite songs.
The school’s French Club, Chick-Fil-A, GetGo and Starbucks sponsored the competition. For more information, call (724) 625-1581.
