Mars Area High School senior Mihali Sfanos signed a letter of intent to join the Pioneers Men’s Basketball Team at Point Park University, where he plans to major in economics.

Sfanosis a four-year member of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team, which advanced to the 2021 WPIAL Class 5A Boys Basketball Championship semifinals this season. In 2019-2020, the team advanced to the first round of the PIAA Class 5A Boys Basketball Championship, after taking second place in the WPIAL Championships.

He was named to the 2020-2021 (Section 4-5A) and 2019-2020 (Section 3-5A) Western Pennsylvania Big 5/6 Athletic Conference All-Section Boys Basketball First Team; and was selected for Tier II of the 2020-2021 Butler Eagle Boys Basketball Honor Roll. This season, Sfanos was also named Team MVP. 

At Mars Area High School, Sfanos also played baseball for the five years. In the community, he volunteers with his church.
