Two Mars Area High School seniors signed letters of intent to continue their sports careers at the college level:
Kali Harris signed a letter of intent to join the Bearcats Softball Team at St. Vincent College (Latrobe, Pa.), where she plans to major in nursing.
Harris is a pitcher/first baseman for the Mars Area High School Varsity Softball Team, which ended the 2021 regular season with an overall record of 4-12 and 2-8 in Section 3-5A play. In both 2018 and 2019, the Lady Planets advanced to the first round of the WPIAL Girls Varsity Softball Class 5A Championships
At Mars Area High School, Harris is a member of Art Club, Interact Club and Varsity Club. In the community, she works at St. John Specialty Care Center.
Emilee Waldrop signed a letter of intent to join the Redhawks Softball Team at La Roche University (Pittsburgh, Pa.), where she plans to major in forensic science/criminology.
Waldrop is a pitcher/second baseman for the Mars Area High School Varsity Softball Team, which ended the 2021 regular season with an overall record of 4-12 and 2-8 in Section 3-5A play. At Mars Area High School, Waldrop is a member of Varsity Club and Yearbook. In the community, she volunteers at St. Barnabas Health System.
