District Awarded 2020-2021 Trib HSSN Sports Cup

Mars Area School District was awarded the 2020-2021 Trib HSSN (High School Sports Network) Class 5A Sports Cup.

The Trib HSSN Cup is a yearlong competition to determine the top WPIAL sports program in each classification, awarding points for section/conference wins, district/state playoff berths and district/state championship winners and runners-up. Schools can earn one point for section/conference wins as well as for placing in WPIAL and/or PIAA competitions.

The District’s sports teams earned a total of 530 points throughout the 2020-2021 School Year. Of note, Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team and Girls Varsity Soccer Team each won their respective 2020 PIAA and WPIAL Class 3A Championship Titles; and, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team and Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team both earned the 2020 WPIAL Class 2A Championship Titles and advanced to the PIAA playoffs.

In addition, Mars Area High School’s varsity baseball, boys basketball, girls basketball, football, boys tennis, girls tennis, boys volleyball, girls volleyball teams each advanced to compete in their respective WPIAL playoffs. And, members of the school’s cross country, boys golf, girls golf, swimming & diving, boys tennis, girls tennis, track & field and wrestling teams competed in individual WPIAL and PIAA contests.
