Mars Area High School senior Sarah Hooper was named a Semifinalist in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Hooper placed among the top 16,000 high school students, who entered the 2022 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). All semifinalists are eligible to advance to the level of Finalist, at which they may be considered for a 2022 National Merit Scholarship.
