Mars Area School District is holding its 2021 Homecoming Celebration, Monday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Oct. 2.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Let’s GLOW Crazy.” Spirit Week theme days at all school buildings (K-12) will include:
- Monday, Sept. 27 — “Mocs, Stocks, Socks & Crocs” Day
- Tuesday, Sept. 28 — “USA” Day
- Wednesday, Sept. 29 — “College/Sports Team” Day
- Thursday, Sept. 30 — “Neon” Day
- Friday, Oct. 1 — “Blue & Gold” Day
The 2021 Homecoming Parade will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, in Downtown Mars, followed by the Fightin’ Planets Homecoming Football Game against the Armstrong River Hawks at 7 p.m. at Mars Athletic Complex.
The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime. Candidates are Isabella Cinalli, Maddie Lee, Eliza Matusek, Madison Moan, Kaitlyn Pelaia, Gillian Porter, Karina Quinn and Kalin Wilson.
The week will conclude with Mars Area High School’s 2021 Homecoming Dance, to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2, at Mars Athletic Complex. (In the event of inclement weather, the dance will be held at Mars Area Middle School.) Attendance at the dance is limited to those ages 14-20 and in ninth grade and above.
Dance tickets are $20 per student and may be purchased through Friday, Oct. 1, at the Student Council booth at Mars Area High School. A completed Homecoming Ticket Order Form (available online at https://4.files.edl.io/1c8e/09/09/21/150144-161f5b3b-2528-4f60-b27f-8f561197a438.pdf) and payment are due at the time of ticket purchase. Checks may be made payable to “Mars High Activity Fund.”
The 2021 Homecoming King will be crowned at the dance. Candidates are Zaccheri Campagna, Jacob Caringola, Johnny Fratto, Skylor Lindsey, Aidan Moffa, Zach Schlegel, Trey Wagner and Eli Wright.
