Members of Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC joined in welcoming home numerous American war veterans upon their return from an Honor Flight Pittsburgh trip to the nation’s capital to visit the memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

JROTC members assisted with parking and set-up for a Hall of Fame banquet at Northway Christian Community Church (Oct. 2), where they also served as escorts for the veterans. In addition, the students perfor-med a rifle cordon and color guard.

Honor Flight Pittsburgh offers the annual all-expenses-paid trip for local veterans. This year’s trip focused on World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veterans.
