A team of Mars Area High School students earned place with 585 points in the Hometown High-Q academic competition, which aired Jan. 1 on KDKA-TV.
Seniors Christopher Dvorak and Luke Weiland and junior Cole Winstead competed against teams from Greensburg Central Catholic and Mohawk.
The program, sponsored by Westfield Insurance and KDKA-TV, offers students an opportunity to compete for academic grants and recognition by answering questions from a variety of curriculum areas.
