Several members of Mars Area High School Band were selected by solo audition for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) District Band Festival, to be held Jan. 27-28 at New Castle Junior/Senior High School.

Students are senior Evan Rojas (Tenor Saxophone); juniors Ian Fuechslin (2nd Chair Oboe), Ethan Musler (Tuba), and Andrew Nelson (1st Chair Bassoon); and, sophomores Meghan Smith (3rd Chair Clarinet) and Alex Schumann (2nd Chair French Horn). Dr. Bill Stowman, Messiah College music professor, will serve as guest conductor.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, at New Castle Junior/Senior High School. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
