Mars Area High School’s 2011 Girls Varsity Soccer Team was inducted into the WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League) Hall of Fame Class of 2022.

The 2011 team won both the PIAA Class 2A Girls Varsity Soccer Championship Title and its second consecutive WPIAL Class 2A Girls Varsity Soccer Championship titles. The Lady Planets ended the 2011 regular season undefeated with an overall record of 17-0-1 and 13-0-1 in section play, earning the Section 2-2A title.

Team members included Class of 2012 graduates Mani Brueckner (captain), Kristen Check, Crysta Ganter (captain), Julie Koenig and Kristen McKenzie; Class of 2013 graduates Emily Diefenbacher, Lea Eidenshink, Caitlin Foltz, Patricia Glavin, Bethany Perri, Erica Schwab, Jordyn White (captain) and Brittney Wills; Class of 2014 graduates Aileen Brown, Sarah Dailey, Lydia Dennis, Emily Ferraro, Amber Fichter, Olivia Haefner, Gabby Kosobucki, Lori Lehman, Katie Nelson, Shaelyn O’Connor, Karli Paracca, Maggie Sarver, Paige Simakas, Megan Stetz and Taylor Vancheri; and, Class of 2015 graduates Lexi Campbell, Sabrina Edwards, Molly Lennen, Casey Merritt, Jenna Odom, Angelina Prato, Katie Resosky and Logan Wright. 

The 15th annual WPIAL Hall of Fame class was announced on Jan. 19 at the Sen. John Heinz History Center and Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum. For more information, visit www.wpial.org.
