Several Mars Area High School students were selected to receive 2022 Pittsburgh Arts Region Scholastic Art Awards.
In the Photography category, senior Audrey Gehm earned Gold Keys for her works, “The Fairest Thing” and “Reverie;” a Silver Key for “sale d’attente;” and Honorable Mentions for “Devil’s Mark,” “Doll Face,” “Fishing Trip” and “Heritage Home.”
In the Painting category, senior Amelia Vinson earned Gold Keys for her works, “Fish Market,” “LoBack Meat Co” and “Spectacular View” and a Silver Key for “A Day in June.” Junior Kaitlyn Ames received Honorable Mentions for her paintings, “Goose Girl” and “Red String of Fate.”
In the Digital Art category, freshman Alyssa Hipski received a Gold Key for her work, “Retribution.” Junior Kaitlyn Ames earned a Silver Key for “Cozy” and an Honorable Mention for “I Can’t Quite Remember Your Face…”
In the Drawing & Illustration category, senior Cambria Eldredge and junior Kaitlyn Ames earned Silver Keys for their works, “Screwed Up” and “Red Door,” respectively. Junior Kaitlyn Ames received an Honorable Mention for “Chickens and Pillars.”
In the Sculpture category, sophomore Vivian Frank received an Honorable Mention for her piece, “Past the Reflection.”
The students’ works will be featured as part of the annual Pittsburgh Arts Region Scholastic Art Exhibit, to be held from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at Seneca Valley Senior High School auditorium. An Awards Ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m.
