Four members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the 2022 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships, held March 4-5 at Canon-McMillan High School.

Senior Christian Scheller advanced to the quarterfinals of the 172-pound weight class competition. Freshman Liam Hein (126) advanced to the first round; and senior Jaden Fotta (145) and sophomore Riley Lefcakis (285) competed in the preliminary round, all in their respective weight classes.

2022 Section 3-3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships 

Several members of Mars Area High School Boys Varsity Wrestling Team competed in the 2022 Section 3-3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships, held Feb. 26 at North Allegheny Senior High School.

Senior Christian Scheller earned first place in the 172-pound weight class; senior Jaden Fotta (145) took fifth place; sophomore Riley Lefcakis (285), fifth place; and, freshman Liam Hein (126), fifth place, in their respective weight classes. All four will advance to the 2022 WPIAL Class 3A Boys Varsity Wrestling Individual Championships to be held March 4-5 at Canon-McMillan High School.

Sophomore Cooper Courson (152) and freshman Mason Childress (160) earned sixth place in their respective weight classes at the section tournament. Junior Rocco Darocy competed in the 132-pound weight class.
