Two teams of Mars Area High School students competed in the 2022 Western Pennsylvania High School Science Bowl, held virtually on Feb. 26.

Mars Team #1, made up of seniors Rohan Narasimhan and Luke Weiland, junior Cole Winstead, sophomore Declan Abbey and Mitchell Kulfan, was among the Top 16 teams in the competition. Mars Team #2 of seniors Timothy Jayamohan and Raghav Kalbhor, and juniors Lindsey Gourash, Andrew Olson and Ethan Stewart, advanced to the first elimination round.

The students, who competed against 41 teams from local high schools, were asked questions related to biology, chemistry, earth & space, energy, mathematics and physics.
