Several members of Mars Area High School Band were selected by solo audition for the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Junior High District Band Festival, to be held on Tuesday, March 29, at Greenville Junior/Senior High School (Greenville, Pa.).

Ninth-graders Carson Mahan (Trombone 1) and Alvin Tsao (Trumpet 1) will perform with the Ninth Grade Band, conducted by Mr. Douglas Olenik, a tubist for the 399th Army BanPublkuvd at Ft. Leonard Wood (Missouri).

Eighth-graders Sara Biaggini (Baritone Saxophone), Sydney Denk (Baritone BC), Kaden Ostapchenko (Alto Saxophone 1), Riana Palm (Bass Clarinet), Carter Snyder (Trombone 2) and Audrey Stephenson (Percussion); and, seventh-graders Sophia Gourash (Clarinet 3) and Mei Lien Mansfield (Oboe 1) will perform with the Seventh/Eighth Grade Band, conducted by Tyler Husosky, Lakeview Middle School (Ohio) band teacher.

The event will conclude with a public concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Greenville Junior/Senior High School. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
