Two Mars Area High School students were selected by solo audition for the 2022 Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) All-State Festival, to be held April 6-9 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center (Pocono Manor, Pa.).

Junior Andrew Nelson (bassoon) will perform with the PMEA All-State Orchestra, conducted by Jason Seber, Kansas City Symphony associate conductor. The orchestra will offer a public concert at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 9.

Sophomores Alex Schumann (French horn) will perform with the PMEA All-State Concert Band, conducted by Dr. Jonathan Helmick, Slippery Rock University director of bands and associate music professor. The band will offer a public concert at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.
