Mars Area School District will hold its 2022 Homecoming Celebration, Monday, Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 8.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Hollywood After Dark.” The District’s schools will hold the following Spirit Week theme days:
- Monday, Oct. 3 — “PJ/Comfy Cozy Day” — Comfy clothes or pajamas (K-12)
- Tuesday, Oct. 4 — “Jersey Day” — College or sports jerseys (K-12)
- Wednesday, Oct. 5 —
- “Movie Day” — Pink colors (HS); Movie theme (MS)
- “#bethekindkid Day” — #bethekindkid apparel (K-6)
- Thursday, Oct. 6 —
- “Class Color Day” — Black (seniors), Pink (juniors), Red (sophomores), Green (freshmen), Red (eighth-graders), Black (seventh-graders)
- “School Color Day” — White (Centennial School); Gold (Elementary School), Blue (Primary Center)
- Friday, Oct. 7 — “Mars Day” — Blue and gold colors (K-12)
The 2022 Homecoming Parade will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7, in Downtown Mars, followed by the Fightin’ Planets Homecoming Football Game against the Kiski Area Cavaliers at 7 p.m. at Mars Athletic Complex.
The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at halftime. Candidates for Homecoming Queen are Piper Coffield, Callie David, Gwen Howell, Kate Muchnok, Eva Ranalli, Samantha Teixido, Taylor Tumulty and Olivia Wilson.
The week will conclude with Mars Area High School’s 2022 Homecoming Dance, to be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Mars Area Middle School.
The Homecoming King will be crowned during the dance. Candidates for Homecoming King are Jack Dunham, Evan Frye, Alex Jablunovsky, Carter King, Hayden Mayer, Kyle McEwen, Luka Moran and Sam Schultz.
Honorary court members are exchange students Karola Natuzzi (Italy) and Joel Hoster (Germany).
Dance tickets are $20 per student and may be purchased through Friday, Oct. 7, at the Student Council booth at Mars Area High School. A completed Homecoming Ticket Order Form (available online at https://4.files.edl.io/9d15/09/08/22/182153-e1be5524-1ce9-4434-8fa1-6c04f9a32ffa.pdf) and payment is due at the time of ticket purchase. Checks may be made payable to “Mars High Activity Fund.”
