High School Crowns Homecoming Queen, King

Mars Area High School seniors Kate Muchnok and Alex Jablunovsky were crowned as the school’s 2022 Homecoming Queen and King.

Other Homecoming Court members were queen candidates Piper CoffieldCallie DavidGwen HowellEva RanalliSamantha TeixidoTaylor Tumulty and Olivia Wilson; and, king candidates Jack DunhamEvan Frye, Carter KingHayden MayerKyle McEwenLuka Moran and Sam Schultz. Honorary court members were exchange students Joel Hoster (Germany) and Karola Natuzzi (Italy).

Mars Area High School celebrated Homecoming, Oct. 3-8, with students participating in Spirit Week theme days and other activities to earned points for their class. This year, the senior class earned the most points and was awarded the school’s coveted Spirit Stick.

The annual Homecoming Parade traversed through Downtown Mars on Oct. 7, followed by the Homecoming Football Game, in which the Fightin’ Planets triumphed over the Kiski Area Caveliers 47-28. Muchnok was crowned at halftime of the Homecoming Football Game.

On Oct. 8, high school students attended the 2022 Homecoming Dance, themed “Hollywood After Dark,” at Mars Athletic Complex. Jablunovsky was crowned at the dance.
