Mars Area High School freshmen were invited to learn more about the programs and career training opportunities available at Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School as part of a field trip to the vo-tech on Nov. 3.
The students attended brief presentations offered by instructors in each of the vo-tech’s 15 courses:

- Air Conditioning/Heating/ Electrical Occupations
- Automotive Technology
- Building Construction
- Carpentry
- Collision Repair
- Computer Networking & Security
- Cosmetology
- Culinary Arts
- Graphic Design
- Health Assistant
- Heavy Equipment Repair
- Machine Technology
- Protective Services
- Sports Medicine
- Welding
All vo-tech programs are designed to prepare students to enter jobs in technical, skilled, and semi-skilled occupations after high school graduation.
The vo-tech has approximately 900 students in grades 10-12 enrolled from all Butler County school districts. High school students may choose to attend the vo-tech for one, two, or three years in one of the school’s programs of study.
