Rules & Regulations Set for Large Group Events

Dear Mars Area School District families,

Anyone planning to attend a large group large group activity/event (sporting events, performances, public meeting, etc.) at Mars Area High School is asked to be aware that Mars Area School District has instituted a “no bags/backpacks” policy.

Event attendees/spectator will NOT be permitted to bring bags/backpacks into Mars Area High School auditorium. District security personnel will be on hand to enforce this restriction. (Note: Small purses (4.5” x 6.5”), diaper bags and medical bags are permitted. All personal items are subject to search.) Any spectators, who are carrying a bag/backpack, will be asked to return the item(s) to his/her vehicle or to discard of the item(s) before entering the building. Mars Area School District is not responsible for any items left at the auditorium entrance.

To ensure the safety and security of all students, staff and musical attendees; we ask that you please note the following:

  • All person attending Mars Area High School performances must have a valid ticket, when applicable.
  • Only small purses (4.5” x 6.5”), diaper bags, and medical bags are permitted. Event attendees are asked to avoid bringing any bags, whenever possible.
  • All personal items are subject to search.
  • Children, ages 12 and under, must be accompanied by an adult. Children are not to be left unattended at any time.
  • No food/drink is permitted in the auditorium.
  • There is no re-entry once a person leaves the building.

The following are always PROHIBITED:

  • Alcohol and Other Controlled Substances
  • Tobacco Products (including e-cigarettes/vape pens) — Tobacco products are not permitted on school property (including all parking areas) at any time.
  • Weapons
  • Backpacks
  • Outside Food and/or Beverages
  • Artificial Noisemakers — Artificial noisemakers may include whistles, horns, air horns, electric megaphones, etc.
  • Laser Pointers
  • Frisbees, Beach Balls, and Other Such Sporting Equipment.
  • Pets and Other Animals — No animals are permitted, except for service animals and/or service animals in training.
  • Gambling — Gambling and Small Games of Chance are only permitted if an organization, group or individual has a valid small games of chance license, issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Any person found to be in violation of the above guidelines will be removed from the building without refund.
